Many times I am asked how many remaining Tuskegee Airmen are there? That number would be hard pressed to determine precisely. There maybe one in your family that hasn’t fully shared their story from WWII. However, in St. Louis there is one. And his birthday is soon. So today I send an early birthday wish to him.
Each month I try to call two, an airmen and women, just to say hello. One is 101, she, yes she, and her brother were both Tuskegee Airmen. Sadly her brother, a pilot, died in the war. She went on to serve thru many conflicts as a nurse. The other is a spry pilot who lives in Florida, but has visited St. Louis. He was once a co-grand marshal for a 4th of July parade. If you are blessed with the friendship of a veteran of any war, I ask that you take a moment and call them just to say hello and if possible spend some time listening to their stories.
