Today the newly reformed Scott AFB Lewis Lynch Tuskegee Airmen Chapter co-hosted a Suits for Vets event with H.E.R.O.E.S Care at the VFW Post 805 in O’Fallon, IL. Thanks to all Senior Chapter members and the Hugh J. White Chapter of St Louis for guiding us through our first event! Thanks also to members of Sunrise Rotary of O’Fallon who provided financial support.
Five members of the Hugh J. White Chapter joined the host chapter on Friday and Saturday to unpack, organize and hang over 400 suits.
Veterans and active-duty members were served first. Many substantially increased their business/suit options. The chapters were also able to share the suit donations with the St. Louis Clergy Coalition, McKendree University Career Closet and Intern program and a Madison High School. Some suits remain and will be distributed at a later date. If you know of a mentor organization that could benefit from slacks, shirts and suits please contact the chapters.
Altogether we had a great turnout and can’t wait to see applications from new members. If you are interested in joining either chapter to continue our efforts, please contact through this website or our Facebook pages.
If you received a suit, please share your photos through this site or the facebook pages.
