Nominations for the St. Louis-area ACE Academy Open!
There are limited spaces available for the St. Louis area’s second annual OBAC Ace Academy https://obap.org/outreach-programs/ace-academy/). The Aerospace Careers Educational Academy (ACE), sponsored in part by the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, is a national program designed to introduce middle and high school youth to opportunities in the aerospace industry. The ACE Academy provides a week-long program that includes opportunities to fly general aviation planes, high-tech simulators and even drones!
The 2024 OBAC Ace Academy will be held from June 24th through June 29th. There is space available for twenty youths 13 to 18 from the bi-state area.
The 2024 OBAC Ace Academy Sponsors Step Up!
Southwest Airlines, Boeing and the United States Air Force are three of the sponsors supporting the ACE Academy in the St. Louis area! These sponsors all bring unique features that will introduce the aerospace industry to the attendees. The program includes a behind the scenes tours of Lambert International Airport! Also in the works is a tour of Scott Air Force Base and a KC-135 tanker if ongoing USAAF missions allow. There will also be a career panel hosted by Boeing that will also include hands-on STEM activities. The program is intended to expose to diverse career opportunities in aviation to regional youths!
